I have to say, I wouldn't do anything with initials on it unless all the women are married... I have a clock that I don't like to set out b/c the bride had it monogramed for me as a gift and I married about a year or so later (to the guy I was dating at the time of her wedding - the brother of the man she was marrying!).
For my wedding, the bmaids got the jewelry theywould wear for the wedding and a gift certificate to a restaurant where they lived that their significant others helped me pick out! for the already married ladies that read or helped with wedding prep, i got monogramed bags from LL Bean.
